Water Damage and Remediation Technician

ServiceFirst Restorations, Inc., is a disaster recovery, restoration, remediation, and decontamination company located in Laguna Hills, California.  We are assisting them in their search for a talented and energetic Water Damage/Remediation Technician. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Perform Remediation and Demolition work within the Emergency Services Department for a variety of commercial and specialty construction clients in a 24/7 operation.
  • Has on-call and emergency response responsibilities and must be available to rotate on-call shifts after hours and weekends for emergency calls.
  • Responsible for job monitoring, equipment delivery and setup.
  • Ensures that all equipment, supplies, vehicles and products are carefully handled and maintained. Reports any deficiencies to the immediate supervisor or designated person.
  • Performs job responsibilities with the highest regard to project and personal safety.
  • Maintains daily tracking of personal timesheet and job locations and tasks. Ensures that information recorded on time sheets and job logs are accurate and legible.
  • Cleans carpet, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, and room accessories to remove effects of smoke and water damage such as dirt, soot, stains, mildew, and excess water and moisture.
  • Uses fans, dehumidifiers and other equipment to remove moisture from carpet, upholstery, and air.
  • Verifies moisture presence and removal with moisture sensor.
  • Sprays or fogs carpet, upholstery, and accessories with fabric conditioners and protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants.
  • Inspects completed restoration to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Attends training for a variety of remediation related courses as required.
 
Qualifications:

  • Physical ability to perform the work. 
  • Knowledge or work experience in the disaster restoration field is preferred. 
  • Willingness to learn and improve your skills. 
  • Must have good driving record and a valid driver’s license. 
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check.
 
Education and/or Experience:
 
  • Prior experience in water damage a plus. 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 
    • IICRC Certifications in Water (highly desired), Mold, Fire/Smoke/Odor a plus.
 
Other Qualifications: 
 
Must be available for local travel up to 75% of the time in response to emergency calls. Some out of town travel may also be required. Must be available to work on a rotating on-call shift and be available for after hours and weekend work as required.
