Lead Water Technician

A licensed and certified Greenville, NC water restoration company has an immediate opening for a qualified technician.  The technician will perform emergency services in homes and businesses that are damaged due to fire, water & wind.  Work will consist of meeting with homeowners and performing water extraction from buildings, cleaning of buildings, light demolition work and general clean-up.  
 
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Responding quickly to emergencies such as water, fire, and smoke damage.
  • Identifying scope of work, measuring and sketching out all affected areas and employing industry standard restoration techniques.
  • Extracting water from flooded structures using commercial extraction equipment.
  • Performing demolition including removing damaged or wet building materials such as carpet, pad, baseboard, cabinets, drywall, etc.
  • Taking accurate moisture readings and properly setting up commercial drying equipment to minimize drying time.
  • Cleaning and maintaining proprietary equipment as needed. 
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Self-motivated and a willingness to learn
  • Capable of working unsupervised and follow directions
  • Institute for Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification (IICRC) a plus but not required
  • Strong work ethic
  • Professional appearance
  • Customer service ability -- providing "high touch" service to our clients
  • Must be able to work in all types of conditions (hot, cold, wet and dusty)
  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with valid operators license
  • Able to pass a pulmonary test for proper air respirator fit
  • Experience with Microbial / Mold Remediation, Media Blasting, Containment Construction, Sewage Clean Up, Structural Drying, 24 Hour Emergency Service and Thermal Imaging a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Ability to complete required paperwork correctly and punctuality 
  • Computer skills, particularly MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Organizational skills
  • Hard working team player who can easily adapt to changing needs 
  • Must be able to respond to after hour calls and on call schedule for after hours
  • Must be able to pass background check and pre-employment drug test
