L.T. Rich Products is a market leading manufacturer of stand-on zero turn equipment for the lawn care industry.  They have been innovating and growing the industry since our early days in 1999. We are assisting them in their search for a Mechanical Engineer to assist in meeting production quotas and maintain the level of quality and dependability their customers have come to rely on and expect.

Job Summary
The qualified candidate will primarily be responsible for providing detailed designs for innovative lawn care equipment. This includes improving, organizing, and managing current product records as well as assisting in new product design and development.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with Engineering Manager to provide robust equipment designs. 
  • Fluent with Auto Cad Inventor a must.
  • Contribute to team's continuous improvement effort. 
  • Meet and exceed their customer's expectations through superior design and implementation. 
  • Work on variety of engineering projects, research and development projects. 
  • Assess the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design
  • Modify designs and retest them
  • Assess project requirements
  • Measure the performance of mechanical components, devices and engines
  • Agree to budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers
  • Clear communication with management and the shop on issues that arise. 
  • Constantly review and master applicable business technology to ensure they are using the best tools.
  • Be a great team player and contributor on the L.T Rich team. 

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Design Strong, mechanical design aptitude
  • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design
  • Strong technical drawing skills, especially in 3D modeling, Inventor or equivalent
  • Extremely computer literate with general Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with product development and bill of materials 
  • Skills in implementing root cause failure analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes, CNC machining, Stainless Steel weldments, sheet metal forming, and mechanical assembly a plus
  • Technical knowledge of industrial lawn care industry a plus
  • Strong math and IT skills
  • Problem solving and attention to detail a must
  • Written and oral communication
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
