Quality Assurance Food Safety Supervisor

We are assisting our client, a manufacturing and distribution company in the Joplin, Missouri area in their search for a Quality Assurance Food Safety Supervisor.  The Quality Assurance Food Safety Supervisor  will manage the QA and Food Safety programs for the plant.   This involves sanitation, pest control, and 5S programs.    Programs should be developed and managed to meet all Federal, State and Local requirements and guidelines established by SQF.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Develops and manages the plant QA and Food Safety Program to meet SQF requirements.
  • Develops and maintains the Master Sanitation Program
  • Establish cleaning activities that follow daily, weekly and the Master Sanitation Program
  • Creates and updates standard cleaning procedures.
  • Audits to ensure compliance to cleaning procedures.  Writes corrective action for non-compliance.
  • Reviews paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Orders and maintains all cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Ensures all plant equipment is clean and safe for production.
  • Manage the Pest Control Program utilizing a 3rd party pest control company.  Insure corrective actions are being written and performed for all deficiencies found.
  • Manage and be the leader in development of the plant 5S program.  
  • Leads plant team audit to determine effectiveness of QA, Sanitation, Pest Control, 5S and GMP programs.   Leads team in development of corrective actions for found deficiencies.
  • Manages the QA Food Safety Budget.
  • Provides report for the daily plant Visual Performance Monitoring (VPM) meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications: 
 
  • BA or BS degree preferred. 
  • HACCP Certified
  • SQF Practitioner
  • Three to five years’ work experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-department teams.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in all Microsoft applications.
  • Hands on experience with ERP systems
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned.
